Subtitling – Be Inclusive!

Subtitling – Be Inclusive!

The internet is fantastic for people with hearing difficulties, so much can be communicated easily with words and pictures. However with the current move towards video with marketing and explaining offerings it can be easy to overlook this area.

Video services such as YouTube provide easy to use subtitle offerings. It’s so simple, particularly if you already have a typed script you used to make your film.

Simply go to the video manager, select the video, select ‘Subtitles and CC’, and you can paste your script into the box. YouTube will then analyse the speech content and line the words up with the audio. In my experience it does this very well, but it’s easy to change and align things differently if necessary.

An easy way to be inclusive!
